Effective maintenance involves checking the Pressure Drop across the filter bank. A clean G4 filter typically starts at 30–50 Pa; once it reaches 200–250 Pa, it is effectively “full” and must be serviced. Ignoring this leads to a massive spike in energy consumption as fans struggle to pull air through the clogged media. This ensures that your system’s “first line of defense” is always active, preventing coarse dust from reaching and damaging your more expensive fine filters and HEPA units downstream.
